Fire Prevention

Fire Division personnel spend many hours talking to children in area schools about fire prevention. In addition to going to the schools, fire fighters also give fire prevention classes to those who come to the station for tours.

The Division also has a fire fighter trained in the Juvenile Fire Setters program who will work with young people who have been identified as playing with matches or fire to help them understand the dangers of such behavior and to help prevent a reoccurrence. The goal of this program is to prevent the tragedies associated with children playing with fire or matches.
