ADULT VOLLEYBALL

Men's & Women's Volleyball - this program runs from September to December. Teams are placed in divisions and come in weekly for some exercise and fun. These leagues run Sunday through Wednesday.

Coed Volleyball - This program runs January through April, Sunday through Wednesday. Men & women combine to make teams and come in weekly for exercise and fun.

FIT 'n 50+

This is a great group to get active with. Not only do we exercise together, we have monthly lunches and enjoy each other's company. It is a fun, energetic group of individuals. So check out our schedule here

50+ Exercise - Individuals are invited to exercise sessions at the Evergreen Community Building in Parkview Village free of charge. These sessions involve sitting and standing to maintain and improve joint flexibility, range of motion, muscle tone, balance, coordination, concentration and endurance.

50+ Dance - Held at the Evergreen Community Building at Parkview Village free of charge. This program begins with a few warm-up dance routines and progresses to more vigorous dances such as the Jesse Polka and the Virginia Reel then proceeds to a cool-down routine.

50+ Water Aerobics - Held at the FSU Pool with a fee of $2.00 each time you participate. Individuals take part in light aerobic exercises to help improve circulation, muscle tone and flexibility. You do not need to know how to swim to participate.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Big Rapids Youth Program - The Big Rapids Recreation Department would like to invite your kids to a supervised program to provide additional fun activities during the summer break. The program will consist of adult supervised board games, arts-n-crafts, sports, and special events. Click here for schedule and registration form.


Charles E. Fairman Pool - The City of Big Rapids operates the Charles E. Fairman Community Pool from mid June to mid August. Swimming Lessons are provided at a nominal charge. If you cannot afford lessons, please check with the pool staff for scholarships. Lessons are available five days per week for five weeks. Click Here for more information.

PROGRAMS FOR ALL

DISC GOLF COURSE - Come play Disc Golf at the 18 hole course located at Northend Riverside Park in Big Rapids. The course runs through fields and wooded areas for a beautiful environment and the perfect amount of challenge. Each hole is equipped with two tees for difficulty, and a chain basket. Let's Walk Big Rapids - A non-competitive walking program that offers exercise while spending quality time on Big Rapids parks and trails. Let's Walk Big Rapids is a free program for all ages. Click Here for more information.

Tai Chi - A series of movement to improve balance, muscle tone, and flexiblity. Classes are held from 12:10 - 12:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Commission Room and is open to the public. Class schedule is from Sept. - May fee for class is $2.00/session. Click here for the schedule
